Couples therapy
A third chair. For the hard conversations.
Eighty minutes for the two of you and me. No sides, no scorekeeping. Just a place to put the thing down and look at it together.
Common reasons couples come
You don't have to be in crisis. Most aren't.
We keep having the same fight
Different topics, same dynamic. You can feel it the moment it starts.
We stopped talking about anything real
Logistics at the dinner table. Silence after.
Intimacy changed and we're not sure how to talk about it
A rupture: an affair, a betrayal, a breach of trust
Parenting tensions. We're not on the same team right now.
We're considering separation and want to do it well
Pre-commitment, we'd like to start well
Something big is coming: marriage, baby, move, diagnosis
Your first couples session
Here's exactly what we'll do.
The format is deliberate and a little different from individual work. You'll each have space to speak without interruption, and we'll find one specific thing to focus on. You won't leave with everything solved. You'll both leave with more clarity than you arrived with.
0–10 min
Setting up
Introductions, what brought you in, what a good outcome would look like.
10–30 min
Each person speaks
Ten uninterrupted minutes each. I listen. Your partner listens. That's all.
30–60 min
What I'm noticing
I reflect patterns I'm seeing. Language, body cues, where you get stuck. Gently.
60–75 min
Trying something small
One tiny experiment to try this week. Not homework, an invitation.
75–80 min
Checking in
How was that. What's one thing you're taking away. Is this useful.
